treasure yourself update

heading into my second week of the amazing treasure yourself project, if you have no idea what i am talking about then head over to miss lori jai’s blog by clicking here. i promise you won’t regret it.

this week has been a successful one. i am back into my personal training sessions despite the freezing weather. tonight was horrendous fun, running around in the dark holding a giant rope above my head, i feel a million times better when i am exercising and it’s all worth it once i get there.

tonight i arrived home to an amazing dinner cooked by mr bell and a sneaky new pair of shoes he grabbed from the shops today, just because. i am so grateful to have so much love from him.

the main ritual i have started is to be grateful for the small stuff, this week i am extremely grateful for having a warm and amazing home to live in, a job that challenges me everyday, the love and support from so many people, grateful that my mind is constantly ticking over with new ideas - and this has led to some exciting projects (much more on that at a later date) and grateful that i am planning my dream wedding. i am so incredibly blown away with how spoilt we were at our engagement party, we received so many beautiful gifts and cards, i still can’t believe it.

i have also downloaded sarah wilson’s i quit sugar e-book. it’s an 8 week program to help you cut out nasty sugars from our diet, it’s going to be a challenge and a half as i love a sweet treat. if you want to know more about i quit sugar, visit sarahwilson.com.au. i will keep you posted on the process, wish me luck!

all in all i am feeling full of happiness and trying to not let the small stuff bother me, it’s all about focusing on making my dreams become reality.

i have posted some images of what last week consisted of, if you are on instagram come say hello, you can find me @peppahart. i will update again in a week’s time, would love to know what you are grateful for x

the engagement love fest

i am not going to lie, it was a humungous load of work to get our party together but the finished product was more than we could have ever imagined. it was in one word magical. a night that will go down as one of the best in our lifetimes, we felt so loved and so special.

we made everything ourselves including mr bell making majority of the furniture including a huge new deck built into our house. we had torrential rain all week and our spirits and our new deck were definitely dampened. but my amazing parents came to the rescue and arranged a beautiful marquee for us and it worked a treat. looking back now it actually made the party better, it was so warm and cozy and allowed all of our decorations to hang perfectly.

we had some beautiful surprises from our friends abroad with video speeches coming from central america and spain on the night and an extra special speech all the way from london from mr bell’s parents. it really made the night even more amazing.

on the menu it started with home made dips, breads, cheeses and all the usual party food suspects. mr bell had built a “mexican food bar” out of an old vintage barn door from my parents farm. there were taco’s, burritos, guacamole and all the sides. it worked well as we didn’t have the event catered and there was around 80 guests, it allowed everyone to serve themselves. and then there were the sweets… all our family and friends made the most delicious treats! there were spanish cakes, cupcakes, cheesecakes, mini meringues, and more. it was a taste fiesta!

for the drinks we had a keg of beer for the boys and punch for all the girls. there was wine, spirits and of course the champagne was flowing! we served the punch in jam jars with polka dot flag straws.

decorations were all diy, i had the help of my closest girlfriends to make pom poms, neon garlands, scrub jam jar labels off and a million other fun jobs. we had fairy lights hanging in the marquee and it set the mood perfectly, we also had candles everywhere. flowers were organised by another close friend, they were prefect and i picked mainly whites, purples and pinks, we arranged the flowers into all my hundreds of vintage glass bottles i have been collecting for years. we also went to town on the cushion front, we wanted it to feel comfy and cozy. so beautiful bright cushions with an eclectic mix of prints teamed with mexican rugs definitely made for a cozy setting.

and last of all what we wore, my dress was from maurie and eve and i absolutely loved it, it was perfect. i wore a beautiful fresh flower crown made by the mega talented elise from elyssium blooms, check out her facebook page by clicking here. elise was an absolute dream to deal with and i still can’t believe i got to wear a peony in june. mr bell wore a white shirt with navy detail on the cuffs and collar from top man, a grey velvet bow-tie, maroon chinos and grey dunhill shoes (he looked very handsome).

it was a hectic few days of setting it all up but it really did come together perfectly. we had so much help from our family and from our close friends, we would have been so lost without everyone’s help. it was seriously the best night and more than we had ever dreamed of, we are both still on an engagement party high.

we all are now so excited for the wedding next year. 9 months and counting until we are officially mr and mrs bell…. xx

a little off topic,  i couldn’t help but re-post these images from oracle fox’s blog.

words from my very wise and beautiful friend lori jai harding:
i believe that we are all in charge of our own happiness. happiness doesn’t come easily; it is something you have to continually work at, adjusting aspects of your life you can change, and accepting the parts you cannot. but it is also okay not to feel completely happy all the time and accept that everyone must experience challenges, and ultimately, pain, because without challenge and pain, you cannot grow, or learn. parenthood is a very strange cocktail of both. pure, unlimited happiness and joy that fills you up like nothing else, and many, many life lessons and challenges that push you well past your limits. but that’s the point isn’t it. to push you. to make you stronger.
treasure yourself project
lori has started the “treasure yourself perfect”, it is truly amazing and something that everyone needs to get involved in.  it’s an 8 week program, with the main point being – be the very best person you can be. it has only been live for a few days and already had over 700 ladies on facebook eagerly wanting to be motivated and inspired.
it’s amazing how just a few encouraging words can set you back on the right track. i know at the moment i am working huge hours, i work in the afl and our team plays every weekend so work never slows down during the season, i am also organizing our engagement party which is on saturday (hooray) as well as organinng our wedding in bali. trying to juggle time with my family, finace and beautiful friends is proving a little tricky. plus the whole getting the wedding body into shape needs to fit in there somewhere.
this project has come at a seriously perfect time, who doesn’t want to be the very best person they can be? i know i don’t want to take anything for granted and sometimes we need a gentle reminder to say, we have a beautiful home, we have a family that adores us, we have friends that would do absolutely anything for us and best of all we have great jobs and love that goes to the moon and back. it’s easy to complain and sweat the small stuff like traffic or meetings or bills or a messy house. but really in the scheme of things, is it that important?
i encourage you to jump on over to eight ten ten to find out all the details from lori right here. what have you got to lose right?

once again the big idea of what my bridesmaids dresses will look like has changed, and i think it will change another 100 million times before they start getting made.

i have been spotting quite a few wedding photos with all white dresses for the bridesmaids and flower-girls. it looks beautiful and will not date, my big obsession with all things neon will date.

so here is a little bunch of what i find absolutely beautiful, of course the majority are made by lover. who doesn’t love a lover dress?

colour colour colour and more colour.

lately colour has come into my life in a huge way, i just can’t get enough of it. everything in our house has gone from black, white and grey to neon pink and corals. i love it.

this sudden urge to make everything beautifully bright is definitely influencing my choice in bridesmaids dresses, here is some inspiration for the colour scheme.

thank you sass & bide for brightening up my wardrobe, if only you had a wedding range…

to bold or just right? what do you think? i would love to hear from you x
